Lift-off: How SITA delivers global wellbeing

SITA is the unseen guiding force behind global air travel. If you’ve travelled by plane, there’s a very good chance you’ve experienced one of SITA’s services first-hand. To support their global workforce of 7,000 professionals across 200 countries, SITA partnered with Champion Health.

Global organisations face a challenge: how do you support wellbeing at scale while ensuring it’s personalised for every employee? For SITA, the answer was Champion Health.

A global strategy for wellbeing

SITA’s team operates in every corner of the globe, in all major airports, and in over 60 different languages.

“People really are at the heart of everything we do here. Wellbeing is a catalyst that will help us meet our business growth and objectives…Having people located in different places around with world means that each of them has a different way of accessing support and resources,” says Emily Gascoigne, People Experience and Communications Consultant at SITA.

To support their global workforce, SITA leveraged the Champion Health platform to provide localised in-platform signposting across every country of operation. Now the people team at SITA know that, wherever their colleagues are in the world, they can quickly access support through one centralised platform.

Personalised to every employee

Champion Health gives every employee a unique experienced defined by their personal health needs and goals. This is crucial to generating engagement.

“Wellbeing is not one-size-fits-all. Our people are unique individuals with diverse needs and priorities and we know that offering a standard approach to wellness doesn’t have a meaningful impact on everyone,” says Alina Ionescu, CHRO at SITA.

We couldn’t have said it any better. Every SITA employee now receives a personal health report: an in-depth view of their overall health alongside a tailored action plan to boost their health (or keep them feeling great).

They also now get access to a library of recommended wellbeing content, described as the Netflix of Wellbeing. This includes Olympian-led workouts, calming mindfulness sessions, expert-led masterclasses, nutrition plans, sleep stories and more.

“Our employees can have a completely tailored range of content that meets their needs, from physical wellbeing, mental wellbeing, sleep stories, nutrition. It’s really tailored to them and helps support them on their journey,” adds Emily

SITA have also extended their workplace wellbeing offering beyond the workplace. With the Friends & Family feature, every SITA employee is empowered to gift access to the platform with three loved ones.

Accessible to everyone

With Champion Health, SITA’s people team have given every employee an equal opportunity to improve their wellbeing.

“Champion Health is on the go, it’s in your pocket. If you have a phone, it’s on an app. Our operational staff can take it with them when they’re working at the airport, but our home-based staff have the same access

“We’re really happy it provides that equity in the wellbeing space,” concludes Emily.

SITA will continue to be supported by their dedicated Wellbeing Lead as they infuse their wellbeing strategy with data, roll-out proactive wellbeing initiatives and measurably improve the wellbeing of their people. Lift-off was a success, now the journey begins.

“Businesses around the world are experiencing turbulence, but the ones that prioritise their employees will be the ones that make it through the storm. SITA now joins other global organisations like Currys plc and Clyde & Co that are supporting their people with Champion Health. It’s fantastic to welcome SITA aboard,” adds Harry Bliss, CEO and Co-founder of Champion Health.
