How we use personalisation to boost your engagement

We all know that wellbeing is personal to every individual – and that everyone’s wellbeing wants and needs are unique. We also know that generic wellbeing initiatives will not engage the majority of employees, and won’t find the people that need them quickly enough.

So let’s stop rolling out one-size-fits-all wellbeing solutions.

It’s clear that to effectively support employee wellbeing, you need to approach it with a personal touch. We understand this challenge. That’s why our platform leverages personalisation to drive engagement with wellbeing across leading organisations. Read on to discover how we’d do the same for you.

Personalised to your people

Personalisation lies at the heart of Champion Health’s platform.

To find the key engagement, we took lessons from the leading technology organisations such as Netflix and Spotify. An aspect that stood out was personalisation.

For instance, if you’re a child browsing Netflix, then your experience will be very different to that of an adult. This personalised user experience has driven these providers into the hands of millions of users worldwide.

We applied those principles of personalisation, to create a platform that drives market-leading engagement with wellbeing – and has become known as the “Netflix of Wellbeing”.

Within the platform, every employee follows a personal wellbeing journey, created and developed according to a digital health assessment. This assessment is easy to roll out, takes 15 minutes to complete, and covers every area of wellbeing.

The assessment also personalises to the individual as they go through it, according to how each employee answers questions such as:

  • How would you describe your menstrual status?
  • Do you work night shifts?
  • Do you have children?

Seconds after finishing their health assessment, your colleagues are presented with:

  1. A personalised health report
  2. Tailored action plans
  3. Recommended content

Read on for a closer look at each of these areas of the platform.

1. Personalised health report

The personalised health report gives your employees a comprehensive look at every area of their wellbeing – including mental health, sleep, energy levels and more.

Employees are also signposted towards key areas of wellbeing, through the following features.

Areas to improve
The areas of wellbeing that they should focus on first.

Areas to maintain
The areas where they are performing well and need to maintain good wellbeing.

Signposting
Recommendations for off-platform services that will help them look after their health (including your internal wellbeing offering). This signposting means that your employees access the resources they need, when they need them.

2. Tailored action plans

Your colleagues will also access tailored action plan, which give them the perfect place to start their wellbeing journey.

Devised by 160+ wellbeing experts, from Olympians to psychotherapists, these tailored action plans outline practical guidance to improve every area of employee wellbeing.

Ae example of one of these action plans is shown below.

Champion Health Report

Based on your employee’s needs, they’ll find integrated signposting towards your services within their action plan.

For example, if an employee was struggling with their mental health, they would be signposted towards their EAP (Employee Assistance Programme) within their “Mental Wellbeing” action plan.

Watch this video for a closer look at how our integrated signposting works.

3. Recommended content

The Champion Health platform goes beyond offering personalised health reports and tailored action plans. Employees also access an extensive library of wellbeing content, across every area of wellbeing.

The vast content library within the platform contains, Olympian-led workouts, guided meditations, nutritious recipes and more.

Employees also receive personalised recommendations for the content that will help them the most.

For example:

  • Parents find masterclasses designed for managing parental stress
  • Wheelchair-users discover seated workouts led by Paralympians
  • Those experiencing menopause symptoms are prompted towards actionable advice

How personalisation drives engagement

Within your role, you’ve rolled out many wellbeing services to support your people – whether that’s an EAP, access to a physiotherapist, or a virtual GP.

However, just making these resources available isn’t enough to effectively support your people. Despite their availability, our data shows that employees are not accessing the support they need. For instance, 60% of employees experience symptoms of anxiety, yet only 10% seek support.

There are multiple reasons for this gulf between employee need and employee engagement – but perhaps the most significant is that these services do not feel relevant, relatable or tailored to your people.

Every employee has different wants and needs when it comes to their wellbeing. To maximise the engagement of your workplace health strategy, you need to engage all of those unique interests. The Champion Health platform achieves that through the following five elements.

1. Increased awareness

By providing an in-depth insight into their overall wellbeing, employees easily discover the areas of wellbeing in which they can make the biggest impact.

2. Actionable recommendations

The tailored action plans provide employees with practical guidance to improve specific areas of their wellbeing, giving them the perfect place to start their wellbeing journey.

3. Relevance

The personalised health reports and expert-led recommendations mean employees feel like the platform is tailored specifically for them – increasing the likelihood that they will participate and utilise the platform.

4. Empowerment through choice

Champion Health puts employees in charge of their own wellbeing. With access to resources in every area of health, employees are empowered to improve their wellbeing in the way that works for them.

5. Improved accessibility

The personalisation of the platform makes it easier for employees to access the resources they need, when they need them.

Your return on investment

For any organisation, the return on investment for workplace health strategies depends on the quality of participation and engagement.

The personalisation of Champion Health’s platform is proven to generate this engagement, because we meet your people where they’re at – with personalised health reports, tailored action plans and recommended resources across every area of wellbeing.

Your people access exactly what they need, exactly when they need it, and that empowers them to make a change.

That’s why global organisations using Champion Health’s platform see market-leading engagement rates – and ultimately – a strong return on investment.
